How large is your operation:  Family farming operation consists of 4200 acres - crops include cotton, alfalfa, durum wheat, bermuda grass, sudan grass and citrus. Located in the Palo Verde Valley in southeast California and western Arizona. In operation for 62 years. Runs registered Simmental, SimAngus, and Angus. Total cow herd size is 100. Simmental breeder since 1974.

 

Breeds raised and bloodlines emphasized: Simmental, SimAngus, Angus. A focus on sound, functional growth performance cattle. Current A.I. sires include SS Goldmine, LMF Movin Forward, CNS Dream On, Summitcrest Complete, Connealy Consensus, EXAR Upshot, Connealy Capitalist.

 

Operation and local history: Family has a long history in developing farmland along the lower Colorado River Valley. Palo Verde Valley holds some of the best water-rights on thte Colorado River Valley. 

 

Climate and topography: Palo Verde Valley winters are very mild - all irrigated pasture. Summer brings extreme heat, most of the cow herd summers in Medford, OR. 

 

Operation and management accomplishments: Offers some of the top performance bulls at numerous All-breed bull sales across Arizona and Calfornia.

 

Marketing outlets: Western Livestock Journal and Western Cowman

 

Cal Poly Bull Test Participation: 18 years.
